Morning Girls and Happy New Year to you all! I hope you can help me with a major prob that is driving me and DH mad. Our 10 month old little boy keeps rolling over in his cot, he does it deliberately, thinks hes great (which he is) but then cos he puts pressure on his tum, he gets sick. I have lost count of the times I have had over the last week that I had to change his bedclothes and its really annoying me now, He didnt go to sleep until 9.45 last night cos he was fighting me all the way, he normally goes down between 8 and 8.30. Im just back to work today and I cant have this every night, I dont have the time to sit and hold him down. He is starting to learn to crawl a bit and I think he is frustrated, can anyone help me? Im at the end of my tether and my normally cool DH is starting to get upset too. Im dreading his bedtimes now. I have tried putting a pillow up under one side of the mattress but he clings on like a surfer on a surfboard!!!!!

Girls please help!!!!!

Hi C8,

My little guy is 20 months now, but we did have the same problem as you when he was around that age. We rolled up some towels and put them under the sheet on both sides of the cot, so it limited the room he had to turn. When we put the towels high enough, he wasn't able to turn over, and after a while, he gave up trying.

HTH,

Gillian

c8, this seems to be a good enough break between having his bottle and going to bed. My little fella goes straight to bed after his bottle and turns on his stomach but manages to keep it down. You could probably try it a little earlier and see how it goes.

think he might have the bottle too soon before he goes to bed, he has his liga and bottle at 7ish and goes to bed after 8 so this could count for the little pukes! I thought I would have to strap him down last night!!!!

getting sick does seem unusual. Maybe try giving him his bootle a little earlier before bedtime and winding him really well.HTH

my 10 month rolls over as well to sleep on his tummy immediately when he gets into the cot. He wears a grobag and this does not stop him turning. He is used to a grobag as he has been wearing one since 5 months so if your little boy is not used to one he might not be able to turn so readily.

I leave my boy to sleep on his tummy as I think it is okay once they reach the 6 months stage. He is going to do it anyway during the night while we are asleep. He does not get sick though. Maybe too much movement is causing him to be sick. Maybe you could try giving him a little break between his bottle and going to bed. (I couldn't do this as the bottle is the only way I have of getting him settled)
