Would really appreciate some reccomendations on allergy testing. My little boy is 6 months old and has severe reactions to both dairy and goats.I am starting to wean him from breastfeeding and he is tolerating soya formula well.Basically I need to get his allergies tested to avoid further reactions. Living in Wexford but will travel anywhere!!

For real allergy testing you need to ask your GP to refer you to an immunologist (or perhaps he would take the blood himself - many will). There are plenty of charlatans offering 'allergy testing' which is anything but.

I was told that allergy testing is not effective till the baby is over 2 as a baby can have temporary intolerance due to immaturity. My dd had violent allergies to soya & dairy as a baby but when i got her allergy tested in crumlin (via a gp's referral letter) she came up clear on everything. Mary
