Can anybody advise what is the best baby monitor to buy. I keep looking at monitors and I don't seem to be able to make a decision!
Any advise? Or any bad or good experiences with particular baby monitors?
Finally, has anybody bought a stokke sleepi (ie crib and cot pack!)? If so, any problems or issues with them?
Thanks

Baby we bought the Stokke Sleepi package for our baby last October and absolutely love it-as does he!!! He went straight into the mini Cot when we came home from hospital and extended it in size when he was about 3.5 months old. One piece of advice-dont spend your money on the stokke branded sheets etc----they are very pricey and regular cotbed sheets are more than sufficent . Maybe purchase the stokke waterproof matress protector-we got this free in Kealys because we bought all of our baby stuff there.
Good luck with your arrival!!! Cant help you with the monitor as we didnt bother with one!

Thanks fluffy47. Good idea on the sheets as they did sound expensive!
Maybe I don't need to have a baby monitor straight away....as I am planning on having the baby in my room. So I might actually delay that decision!
Thanks again

We are intending to buy the Angel Care monitors. They have a sensor mat that goes under the mattress and an alarm goes off if the baby stops breathing. I think it will give us peace of mind.
We bought our Cot/Toy Box/Changing unit in our local nursery store. cant remember the brand but its a sleigh cot/bed/sofa. it is pine and is absolutely gorgeous.
now all we have to do it get our baby home from Vietnam to put in it. LOL

We bought our DS an Angelcare monitor - as MummyToBe said it has a sensor that goes under the mattress which triggers an alarm if the baby doesnt move/breathe for 15 seconds. It also acts as a regular sound only monitor. It has given us tremendous peace of mind especially as the little monkey insisted on sleeping on his tummy since he was born.
Regarding cots we got ours in the Mamas and Papas sale this time last year (DS was born in Sept). Actually would you believe it was tonight last year we got it!! WOW!! Anyway.. sorry... back on track now.... we got a cot-bed in the sale and got a free changing unit with it. We are delighted with both.
Oohhhh and regarding sheets - M&Ps own brand are excellent.. really good quality and well worth the extra few bob.
Good luck with the pregnancy!

Hi, I can't recommend the BT Digital Monitor Plus highly enough. Steer clear of the Tomy ones, they have terrible interference and the batteries tend to be poor. The BT one has an intercom, plays music, has a light and is crystal clear.

I currently have an Angelcare monitor for sale. We used it while DS was very little (as he was 5lbs 14oz when born) and it gave us great peace of mind.
I have the under mattress pad, the nursery unit, the parents unit & power supplies for both - selling for ?60. I still have the instruction manual too. They sell for ?99 in some retailers. Still in perfect working order. If you're interested you could pop me an email - muckymagoo at online dot ie.

Hi, Can i suggest you shop around for the best prices... at the moment or as far as I know, argos are the cheapest with the bt monitor plus at ?107. I have seen them for sales in other places much more expensive.... with regards the cot bed i have not found tony kealy to be at all competitive when we were buying our baby stuff ...sometimes the little shops are more willing to give a better price ...or since some of the sales are on at the moment you may get a good deal ... good luck

Just to say that I've sold my AngelCare baby monitor, just in case you were thinking along those lines.
