Sorry forgot to say Malo hope your injury is not too severe, but am sure anything with the back is very painful. Thankfully I've never had to use a physio so I'm no help!!

There are so many sick babies - hope you are all on the mend. Conor is much better, but still coughs every morning.

Hi girls,
Really enjoyed last night, great food and company. Thanks MMG for booking it. Had a good laugh and I'm even laughing now thinking of that couple in the corner!!

Melb - thanks so much for the photos - they are just fabulous and the little booklet is wonderful and a great keepsake - I can't wait to give it to Conor this evening as he loves photos.
Mammy - hope Laobhise is ok and over her puking episode.

Must go & work.

Hi there

Had a lovely evening! Even if we ran the other people with our chat.
Photos are fab! Hubby very impressed wit his little poser!!!
Well I really paid for mt night out!!! Came home to both babies sleeping and hubby doing washing up. Boy was I impressed. Kieran was in the pram downstairs and had to bring him upstairs to bed. Knew it was a shame to wake him just to move him. Anyway he cried and he cried, changed him and he cried and cried. Took a little feed from the boob but wouldn't settle. Cried and winged all night. Ended up downstairs and got around 10 mins sleep at 6am!!!!!. Finally got him to settle when hubby & Sinead got up. Amazingly she never woke up! Got some kip from 8am to 11am. Then the little monkey downed a bottle and spent 10 mins cooing and smiling at me. Hope it was a one off. Think it was wind or maybe colic. Mammy remind me what to look for on that one.
Later

Hi
the site was down yesterday and I realised how much this site has become for me, I was so upset!
Glad you had a good night out! hope I'll be less obsessed sometimes soon and will be able to go somewhere without Max. Trying to express a bit and preserve, after 6 weeks if should not mess up that demand-supply mechanism, especially considering how much I'm managing to get - only 3-4 tblspns! Dont understand how Max is gaining his 10oz a week on this, may be Im producing a condenced milk :)
Girls thanks so much for all your advices and kind wishes. Hubby is back from his 5days trip and I think his absence was adding the strain. using infacol and it does seem to help at least during the day, evenings are worse but still better than it was.
Found some info about baby massage classes, supposed to be of help with colics too, so going to try it.
Wishing all momies and babies to overcome that cold and be well soon!

Hi girls,
Great night last night, both the company and my one real comfort at the moment.the FOOD!!
Irene, sorry you couldn't make it.
Louise, hope little GS was okay after her sickness.

What am I doing up this hour?? Philip is, as we speak driving Lauren around in the car to try and console her. She was crying solid for 1 and a quarter hours, no idea what is up with her and I can't sleep till they get back. We have no idea what is wrong with her but if it continues I am going to have to get her to a doctor, it is just so unlike her. Philip took the morning off and I took the afternoon off today. Her appetite, both solid and liquid has not improved, basically nothing or very little has gone past her lips since Monday, wrecked now, but what can you do? We have been so lucky up to now, that she has never really been sick. I am sure it will pass though.
Helen, reading your post makes me panic!! My heart goes out to you! How am I going to cope with 2 of them???
Hi Anna, the amount you express isn't necessarily the amount that the baby gets when they are on the breast. I think you usually get less when you express then when the baby actually feeds on the boob. Don't worry about the amount he is or isn't getting, 10 oz a week is a fantastic weight gain. Glad to hear the dreaded C is improving.
Hi Aido and welcome, just check about meetings on the board, though with Christmas coming I think they are a little less frequent.
Becs, hope you are having a good time in the UK and Happy 30th!
They're back now I think so I'll head.....hope I get some zzzzz's

HI all,

Irene, we really missed you on Thursday night- I don't know about anyone else but my arm wouldn't need twisting to have another little night out! I have photos and stuff for you and Amy so we'll definitely have to meet up before christmas anyway. Let me know if you are coming into Galway at all and I can meet you.

I also have photos for cw and cat so if we can't meet up before the holidays email me your addresses to mmphoto@esatclear.ie and I'll send them.

Everyone else who was there- thanks so much for getting my dinner it was very generous of you. I'm glad that you liked the photos- you all made the beautiful babas, all I did was photograph them!

Fiona, I hope that Lauren is feeling better today- what an awful night you must have had. Hope she's horsing back the food and bottles for you now, not to mention sleeping.

Gotta go work on christmas cards for the states.

Thanks again!

Hi girls,

Well she slept for the rest of Friday night, the trip in the car conked her! Wasn't too bad yesterday, is drinking the bottles a bit more, but last night we had a midnight feast (well 3am) of jelly and wafers!!!!
I think it might be a sore throat as both myself and Philip have a touch of it, anything you can give babies for a sore throat?
Melissa, you just reminded me, I need to get my cards posted, thankfully they are written.

Thursday night was a great success wasn't it. Great to see you all again, to swop stories and to relax in peace. I was really impressed with the food too.

Hope all the sick babies are on the mend? And not forgetting the sick mommies too - Roisin I just read about your back now, I hope it is improving. Fiona I don't know of any natural remedies for sore throats other than lemon and honey. The chemist might be able to give you something now that she is over 12 months.

Mel - thanks again for the gorgeous photos. It really was so thoughtful of you.

Have a good week everyone

How are you? Well, stupid car let me down big time on Thursday night. I was so p1ssed off, typical the night it would pick! I Anyhow, it's fixed now, and we're 400 eure less well off. I'm glad to see that you all had a great night anyhow, Louise was telling me that the food, etc. was lovely. I sat in front of the telly for the night, feeling sorry for myself! Roisin, thanks for ringing that evening, I never got a chance to call you back. I hope your back is better, I know it's no fun to have a sore back. Was at Tuam mother and baby grp this morning, so I suppose i Should go and have some breakfast now (I'm a disgrace!!). Will chat later. Is anyone going to GB on Thursday?
Love Irene. xx

Hope all are well or getting there.

Hi all,
Melb, I'll try to get to GB this Thursday, you had enough troubles making these photos to give you more work with posting!
Max is better with infacol, however I carried him alot during his colics sessions and now I'm noticing I cant put him down for a second - he starts roaring immediately, but calms down once I'm picking him. I checked all usual things e.g. not hungry/nappy/cuddled all the rest of the day/does not look sick so I cant figure out the reason. I'm not having free hands at all during the day! Can it be that he already shows his temper at 6 weeks? Or is it too early? I'm really afraid of starting the battle of the wills. Had anyone had this?

Hi Cat,

If its any trouble at all don't worry about getting to the hotel, although its always lovely to see you both. I'll be posting christmas cards anyway so its no trouble for me.
As regards the carrying- have you tried putting Max into a sling? If you don't have one and would like to try one I could loan you mine as Lily has definitely outgrown it. I do, however, still put Lily in a backpack carrier often when she is whinging and I need to get things done. She is actually more demanding about being picked up now than she was when she was a tiny baby.
Let me know if you would like to borrow the sling and I'll bring it along to the hotel.

Don't have time to chat as usual. Hope Lauren is ok. I'm on for Gb and Melissa if you need a lift, tell me - I'll e-mail you and ask for directions, tel no.

Anna, if it's any consolation, new born babies are tough and he'll start to get easier at this stage. I thought it was only me that had the difficult baby and that she would be like that forever but they do settle and turn into charmers. There is an end in sight.

Hi girls,
All is well here, busy at work and trying to get some more christmas shopping done in spare time. Conor got another tooth & is in great form. Fionamc - hope Lauren has improved and is taking more liquids for you - its such a worry when they're off the bottle. Hope all the other babies/toddlers are well.

Hi Girls,
Hope you are on the mend Roisin
Well done on the next tooth for Conor, it is a relief to see them through.
Well Lauren is improving, TG. She still has a bit of a chesty cough, but she is in better form, and slept a better night last night. Taking the liwuids anyhow, but still not great for the food. God I am wrecked from the work, on top of the few bad nights we had, but hopefully I won't have too much more of it.
I hope to go the GB on Thursday, I think I am taking a half day.
Will ring you Melissa, if you want a lift.
Chat soon all,
Fiona

Hi,
Mel, we bought a sling few days ago, unf. I saw your post later, hubby was soo surprised with my obsession to get it, but now I have my hands back!
Were on 6 weeks check up and Max is doing great, gaining weight like a little bear, does all they have to do at that age. He also saw his first christmas tree at the doctors office and he gave it an unbelievably huge smile! And stayed like that for a minute, smiling and a-huu-ing to our amasement. Even a such a small baby knows all about christmas!
Hovewer we were sent for a jaundice test again to the hospital as he is still a bit yellow, and then all troubles started. We spent all day there waiting among many other poor kids and their parents and surely Max had a stuffed nose the very next day. Hope it wont get worse, he seems normal again today. And one more thing - in childrens unit in UCG there are no feeding room! The reality of breastfeeding support campaign :/
See some of you tomorrow

Hi All

For those of you meeting in the GB today - Enjoy.
You lucky things I am jealous - really don't want to be here today.
Roll on the Christmas holidays. I am now finishing on the 18th. I took extra days, I just have enough of this place at the moment and feel like I have hardly seen Ava over the last month.

Speaking of Ava, i am thinking of going to Monkey Business at some stage tomorrow. Let me know if any of you are interested. I may even go to Gymboree if I can us ready in time.

Presume some people are coming to GB today. See ye there. Love roisin.

Hi any of you interested in taking on a new part time job working from home. I joined Usborne Books last August and I'm really enjoying it. It is actually selling children's books but it doesn't feel like you are selling as when people see the books they love them and cannot decide which ones they want. You have your own little business and you can run it whatever way you like. The teachers love them as they are educational aswell as being fun and full of pictures. So there are opportunities to sell at all times through the year. I am in Co Galway myself but cannot cover the whole county so if anyone else would like to join up to spread it around I would be delighted. You pay a small fee and receive 20 books as your kit and catalogues to show the customers. I made some good commission in Nov. It was really worthwhile. Let me know on marylinda@eircom.net People from other parts of the country are needed too so don't hesitate to call.

Hi girls,
I'm afraid to say this in case I put the mockers on myself but Conor is sleeping v.well for the last month (I didn't even want to say it at the dinner). He usually sleeps through the night and is going down to sleep much better - no more tears and cuddles, so long may this last!!
Nearly finished my calendars for the grannys, each month has a pic of Conor as he was in that month in 2003. I don't have a digital camera but scanning them in and printing on photo paper and they look fab. Got lovely newbridge silver christmas decorations for them as well with a pic of Conor in them.
Cat -hope the test results are ok.
Malo-I think most of the beauticians will do massages, but would Donal mind going into one of these places. Wish someone would treat me!!
Hope ye all have a lovely weekend and hope all the babies are well.

Hi,
you cannot even imagine how am I kicking myself for being late last Thirsday! There was some business meeting in that room and you obviously went to some other place. I asked at reception but they did not know :( Arghhh and we went home with Max without seeing you! How can I be so disorganised?! Moreover I took one more mom from Barna (we met at pilates class) with me so it was absolute shame and I felt so miserable.
Og, what youre doing for your family is just a great thing! Love it and may steal it from you for the next Cristmas if you dont mind, just love it!
Jaundice test results shown the level is still a bit above the norm but not high enough for treatment, so waiting for it to be healed by itself. They said its ok considering Max was a bit early to be born, so jaundice can take longer to heal.

Oh Cat, what a shame you missed us. We were in the Cafe (to the left of the lobby as you walk in). You are not disorganised- nothing runs to plan when there is a newborn baby involved (or any other age baby/child!) Next time we meet up give us your phone number so we can text you if there is a change of plans.

Og, I think your pressie ideas are great as well. I'm just making loads of copies of photos for people and I also have the newbridge tree ornaments, they're lovely aren't they?

Better go try to get more things done- is there any end to it all?!

Hi ladies,

My, my. What a lot has happened during my absence! Glad you arranged a meet up; so sorry I missed it. Also sounds like there are as many colds in Ireland as there are in the UK. I've finally succumbed but Grace has come through unscathed so far despite having hundreds of germs flung at her over the last couple of weeks. Hope all the babies are on the mend and stay well over Christmas!

We had a brilliant time; saw so many people and did lots of celebrating; birthday and Christmas parties as well as a wedding. Grace has changed so much over the last while; its amazing. She's moving round the cot now and managed to wriggle out of her chair this morning. Has also started shouting at the top of her voice; I think all the recent attention has made her precocious.

Is anyone going to GB on Thursday? I have a friend visiting (male - does this matter?!) who I may drag down if anyone's going to be there.

Oh, forgot to say re. masseuse. There is a brilliant value package at Spirit One, the new spa at the Radisson. Its 65 euro for all morning at the spa including either a facial or massage. DH and I went there on my birthday and it was fab; you can use all other facilities such as outdoor hot tub, aromatherapy steam room, sauna and even a Caribbean beach (don't get too excited about the latter; the idea is fab but the execution somewhat disappointing).

Hi there,
Oops Anna, so sorry we missed you. We were in the café and Melissa popped at at one stage to see if you were about. And I know just how difficult the whole ordeal with getting out with a small baby can be. I guess it is a good idea to check all the areas before you leave, and as Mel said, give your mobile no. to someone in case plans change at the last minute.
Well, the camera saga. We ended up keeping the v. expensive camera, but I have to say it is a little gem, the pics seem to be fab. It is so easy to upload them onto the computer and today with the lovely weather got some really great pics down in Salthill.
Baby pressie idea: Granny and Grandda came from the North this weekend and Lauren opened her Crimbo present from them seeing as we won't be seeing them over the holiday season. She got a magna doodle, wow has she been entertained over the weekend. She had been drawing with a pen all over everything for the last 2 weeks but this is a saviour!
Well done on Conor sleeping, at this stage Olive you deserve some full nights sleep. L has been up and down to be honest with the sleeping, but she is well over her chest infection and had a great appetite today.
Becs, glad to hear you had a good time in the UK with birthday and Christmas celebrations, when babs is small they change just so, so fast.
One more week of work to go before Christmas! Yippee!!
I won't be in Galway bay this week but am taking Thurs. morning off to go to the mother/ toddler Christmas party in K.naccara.
I am off Monday and Tues. week if anyone is about for a coffee?
Chat soon,
Fiona

Hi All

Good to see babas on the mend, teeth out of the closet and mothers getting more sleep. Welcome back from your holidays Becs, sounds like you had a great time.

Well I am on the final countdown at work here. 3 more days to go yipee. It has been a rough few weeks workwise and I am dying for the break - a full two weeks. We are going to Sligo for Christmas day and will be there for the best part of a week probably. Ava is in great form, dazzled by all the Christmas decorations and hype. My company are having a kiddies party at Monkey business this Saturday. Santa will be arriving by chopper! It should be fun.

Hopefully we'll get to see some of you before the holidays.
Fiona, I could do Tuesday of next week if that suits you, I will probably be doing last minute crimbo shopping on the Monday. I still
haven't got anything for Ava, the doodle pad sounds like a possibility. For any of the kids that are into phones I got a great one for Ava's birthday in The Early learing Centre. It is for older kids, ( 3+ I think), but she loves it. Looks really real and has its own little answering machine. Not too noisy and doesn't take up too much space.
